Cool…But No Wailing Willie Boys
Albert was on PadreDiablo’s hit list for beer and I’m always up for a new place. Evidently, there’s a town for sale –completely legit and it’s Albert TX. It’s like Luckenbach but, without a hit song to drive people to, its middle-of-nowhere-ness. This is “around the corner” for PadreDiablo, hence the visit.
I don’t suggest this place as a destination but it’s nice during fair weather. The icehouse's backyard is covered by a 500-year-old oak, which is the main draw –at least for me. Trees are cool and not just because of the Rush song.
If it goes out of business, just show up and park with a six pack and hang out in the backyard. Who’s going to know?
