Diseased Infected Beer
Beer can catch disease. One of the downsides of craft beer is that quality control can be dodgy. Real Ale’s Sisyphus Barlelywine 2007 is prime example. I reached into my “beer cellar” this morning and was shocked at what I saw [not shaken up]:

I suspected oxidization but when I opened a bottle but, the cap was fine. Luckily, I did this over the sink as the bottle's contents shot out. Classic sign of infection. Phenolic overload. Rusty/metallic, bannana-allspice, band-aid/bactine. Not pleasant or redeeming.

This further explained how bad I found this beer to be when I received it in December. No matter how I took the picture, the redness of the flecks/particles couldn’t come out. Secondary fermentation wasn’t the goal with this beer as this was probably yeast.

The remaining bottles are going to be donated for “educational use” for my BJCP class during the trouble-shooting sessions.
